Brandy,
Actually it was 47 degrees here in Minot today, and most of the snow in my yard is gone! However, next week is supposed to be really cold. I mean Really, Really, Cold!
By the time you get here, in late February, most of the severe winter will be over. You'll find the spring days and the greening of the wide-open prairie something to behold. Your earlier posts about Minot being a great place to raise a family are right on. I see you are looking at Base Housing, and that's fine. Remember to get to town often, as there you will truly experience the Magic of Minot, Its People. Many, many families have come to Minot Air Force Base and remained long after their military tours are completed. Many others, forced away from here by other assignments, have returned "home" again. I'm originally from here, joined the Air Force and returned here as my fourth PCS assignment. I found living on base exposed me to too many people who didn’t want to be there, and they wallowed in self-pity, never leaving the base to interact with “Daks”.
As a native, I would like to welcome you and your family. You seem to have a good attitude about the move, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time here, however long that might be.

KDS

WOW! Someone from North Dakota, MINOT no less, found by blog!? That's awesome!!

Visit more often KDS....do you have a blog of your own??? ;-) I would love to read! :D Thank you for your kind words. I am looking forward to living there, the more I research online and the more AF spouses I talk to on the AF Crossroads forums. I am hopeful it will be a good move for our family. ;-)

CHeryl!! You like my page? heehee I thought it was nice and calm...not making your eyes bleed like the pink one. hahaha! I just don't like that I don't have the blogger toolbar at the top anymore. That makes things a little tricky.
And yes, I know, I'm sure the snow today was NOTHING compared. haha!! My friend who lives in Wisconsin was laughing b/c I said "this is a lot of snow for us...not WISCONSIN snow, but still a lot for us!" hahaha!!

Were the boys out in the snow today? Simone was out and made a little snowman. But we had a meltdown to get her back inside for a nap(main reason for meltdown).

I can't remember the toolbar at the top now...I can remember the pink though! LOL

Yeah the boys were out front with Jake for a few....he took them for a drive in the snow and they didn't want to come in so they stayed in the front yard for a few. Their hands were BRIGHT RED and when they came in Aidan was crying b/c he was so cold! LOL I stuck them in a hot bath ASAP and let them play in there for a while. ;-)
