Back from the hospital with Owen!

Okay so we're back and just a quick update.....Still not sure what was wrong with Owen. His rotavirus test came back negative and that was kind of the only strand the doctors were grasping. We go in tomorrow to see his regular doctor and we'll go from there.

Tonight he is in good spirits and smiling and laughing and playing, THANK GOD. I am so thankful that he is okay but still wish we knew what it was that left my baby unconscious for nearly 30 minutes. Until we know more, I'll still be worried about it happening again. Until then, the kid isn't leaving my side! haha! ;-) He is still very sleepy and has slept a lot, poor guy has been through the ringer in the last 24 hours. :( I'll get to all of the emails tomorrow after I talk more with the doctor.

Thank you so much for your concern and prayers. I was absolutely overwhelmed at the messages I received. Thank you all so very much. Now stop making me cry! ;-) Thanks to Brent and Tammy who instantly made their way down to the hospital to talk and pray with me and Owen. That was so unexpected and thoughtful! And to Cheryl who BARELY caught us as we were loading up to go! Thanks Cheryl for taking the time! ;-) And thanks to Tara who came and kept me company the rest of the night and brought us home from the hospital so Jake didn't have to load up the boys!

Wow! So glad you're home! I'm stunned they weren't able to figure it out. More bummed I guess. What was his white count this afternoon?

Bran, Brent and I love you so much. Always have, forever will. You're still our little girl. Period! We'd drop everything for you!

And next time...CALL!!!!!!!

awww that is about the sweetest thing you could say! :D Thank you! ;-) I'll always love you guys too.

They didn't take another blood draw which I was disappointed about (but also slightly relieved to not have to put him through again) and I even asked about it and they said no. I'm going to ask this morning at his appt. I really trust their doctor (Matt Hough) so I think I'll feel better after talking to him. He knows me well enough to know how I worry about them too (knows I error on the side of paranoid--haha!) so he's always very clear with me. I so much appreciate having a good doctor that has known them since day one. I'll miss that.

Oh poor Matt Hough...he has two paranoid parents to deal with! LOL He has pulled me from the ceiling on numerous occaisions. He'll sort it out. Maybe he and Mary have twins in ND! You should ask him if he knows anyone out there he could recommend. You never know. I wish I could have done more for you. I knew you were still there though b/c I called to see if Owen was still admitted. I'm glad I got to see you two. Hang in there!

I was hoping they would know something before Owen came home, but maybe there is nothing to know..maybe God took it away! I am praying BIG for that little man, and for your family.

Over here from Mandy Mom. This sounds almost EXACTLY like what happened with our daughter (although she was 8). Later the doctors figured out that it was a form of seizure though they never did figure it out completely. We later figured out that a severe food allergy to preservatives was triggering episodes after that. Dehydration and teething also trigger episodes for her.

(((Brandy))) I just 'met' you via a link from my sitemeter today. Wow what a week you've had! How amazing that those were the thoughts you had during that time of crisis.Your thoughts are so right. Take photos while you can. Children grow so quickly and some are taken early, and what will we have left to remember them by? I praise GOD that he seems to be doing better. Keep us updated Brandy okay? (((hugs))) I hope to hear your camera is always handy and that you're taking lots of pictures. I look forward to seeing them.

In His Grace,
Sisterlisa

My camera is definately always handy! haha! Actually I lost my charger a few weeks ago and just found it (at my grandmas!) and can't wait to use my camera again...a few weeks w/o it was hard! haha!

Thanks for coming over! :D
